The 2018 Barbaresco is elegant, classy and polished. This gracious, mid-weight Barbaresco from Francesco Versio offers tons of sheer appeal. Sweet spice and floral top notes lend a very pretty aromatic upper register. There is a feeling of translucence here that is especially alluring. The 2018 is beautifully done. It should drink well for another decade, give or take. It's an impressive wine, to say the least.

Francesco Versio worked as cellarman, and then oenologist, at Bruno Giacosa’s since June 2011, Francesco Versio decided to start producing his own wines from the family’s vines held in Neive: two small parcels located in San Cristoforo and Currà vineyards. First vintage of his Barbaresco was the 2013, with a tiny production of 2,600 bottles. The vinification style is traditional, and wine is aged in a Stockinger botte grande. Since 2017, he acquired a vineyeard in Dogliani to produce a typical wine from Dolcetto grapes.
