The young Marthe Henry directs this tiny négociant operation that may one day morph into a hybrid domaine-négociant thanks to vines that were once owned by her grandfather, Pierre Boillot (deceased in 2004). The family kept the vineyards though they are presently leased to others. While preparing for the day she might have a chance to farm them, she works out of a deep and very cold cellar, making no sulfur reds using 100% whole cluster, something that you don't see every day and particularly for regional wines. The results, while not always consistent, can be excellent and such was the case in 2020. Mlle Henry added that "we began the harvest on the 22nd of August and brought in correct yields that were neither high nor low with lower potential alcohols than we realized in 2019. The reds saw no sulfur and 100% whole clusters and the whites saw no sulfur and no lees stirring. I prefer my 2020s in both colors to their 2019 counterparts." Henry noted that the wines had not been racked since being barreled down after the primary fermentations and were thus reduced, which was what I found with some examples. They should clean up once racked and my projected ranges assume that will be the case. I would add that Henry continues to produce outstanding quality with the relatively modest appellations with which she works.
