Pyramid Valley Angel Flower Pinot Noir 2016

Moderate red cherry, clear and bright in the glass. Haunting aromas that are difficult to place, cherry pastries, wild forest in the summer, red clover, lavender fields. Autumn raspberries, early season red cherries, blood orange, hints of clove and nutmeg, and the warmth of summer berries, pastry and a savoury twist from the forest; long graceful and powerful; the consummate iron fist in a silk glove; sensational.

Mike and Claudia Versing came to New Zealand in 1996. After a long and intense 15-year search around the world for their own vineyard, in 2000 they bought a farm in the Pyramids Valley, near Waikari, in Northern Canterbury, and named it Pyramid Valley . Currently, Claudia manages internal sales and marketing, quality control during harvesting, supports the winemaking team. Mike studied oenology and viticulture in Burgundy. He worked extensively in the vineyards of eminent European farms in France (Burgundy, Alsace, Rhone Valley, Languedoc-Roussillon), in Spain, in Germany (on the Moselle), and in the Yarra Valley in Australia and in Eola Hills, Oregon.
All vineyards of Pyramid Valley are fully certified as biodynamic. The winery was created taking into account the conservation of energy. Very little energy is used in the production of wines. There are no pumps, filter devices, heating or cooling systems. The winery is very well insulated, and since it is relatively small, the Versing family uses natural elements to heat and cool the wine. More: https://winestyleonline.com
